Otilia Leuchtweis O’Hara was born in Germany in 1889. Her parents owned and operated a vineyard. Her early life was marked by great loss, losing her parents and a relative before residing with her uncle in America. It is comforting to know she spent her collegiate days in the company of her sisters. Otilia was one of two collegians who formed Theta Phi Alpha, presided over the first initiation, and was the first to sign the initiation scroll. Otilia remained an enthusiastic supporter of Theta Phi Alpha throughout her lifetime, joining the eternal chapter in 1963.
